Crain's New York Business Features the Advantages of DAG Media's NewYellow Directory Over Bell Atlantic's Yellow Pages

NEW YORK, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- DAG Media, Inc. (Nasdaq: DAGM - news), the leading independent print and online publisher of yellow page directories, was featured today in Crain's New York Business regarding its NewYellow directory scheduled for launch this March in Manhattan to compete directly with Bell Atlantic's Yellow Pages.

The journal highlighted the fact that DAGM's NewYellow directory will not only list the website and email addresses for all businesses published in the listing at no charge, but will also provide free email addresses to those companies that do not already have one. The article compared this to Bell Atlantic's Yellow Pages, which, although it has offered email address listings for more than two years, has failed to generate a mass listing of such addresses due to the additional fee charged for publishing the extra line.

DAG Media CEO and President Assaf Ran commented, ``We are very excited to see the continued media coverage of our upcoming NewYellow directory, and believe that the general interest in the new publication stems from the overwhelming demand in Manhattan for an alternative to the Bell Atlantic monopoly. Our commitment to e-commerce, both by listing emails and websites for free and by publishing our directories on our porty.com Internet portal at no extra charge, has created a dominant position for DAG Media in the online directory publishing market that Bell Atlantic will be hard pressed to match.'' ``

Considering the new email and web publishing feature as well as the myriad of other breakthrough services provided by our NewYellow directory, we expect to break Bell Atlantic's monopoly control of the $300 million industry for yellow page directories in New York City,'' Ran continued. ``Rapid market penetration is also expected to be driven by the overwhelming cost advantage we are offering yellow page advertisers with the same exposure as that provided by Bell Atlantic's Yellow Pages at a 70% discount.''

DAG Media, Inc. currently publishes and distributes two directories in print and online that service the New York metropolitan area. The Company also provides value-added products such as referral and tourist information hotlines as well as the web portal www.porty.com, which offers free nationwide directory information, Internet voice and fax telephony, and a variety of other services.
